About the Author
Ruth Stiles Gannett wrote My Father’s Dragon over the course of a few rainy weeks in 1944 after graduating from college. The book was finally published in 1947, and it instantly achieved huge success and won the Newberry Honor Award the following year. Two sequels shortly followed, Elmer and the Dragon and The Dragons of Blueland. All three of these charming and inspiring dragon stories have been in print ever since publication.
