Marmaduke the Very Different Dragon by Rachel Valentine
Marmaduke isn’t like the other dragons. He has large ears and he doesn’t ever try to fly. He simply doesn’t fit in, although he wants to, and he feels incredibly lonely.
Then there is Princess Meg. She wears trainers and dances at the most unsuitable times. She’s quite unique and different, and she’s enjoying herself too much to realise that she doesn’t really have any friends. However one day Marmaduke and Meg’s lives collide in a most thrilling and unexpected way and at that moment they both come to understand how much they need each other.
Could a princess and a dragon make perfect best friends? Perhaps… because being different can be so much fun!

Reviews
People love Marmaduke the Very Different Dragon and the reviews are full of comments such as:
“A gorgeous story with fabulous illustrations.”
“This is a delightful story for little ones. My three year old grandson enjoys it as much as I do. It is well written, simply, but also incorporating alliteration and unusual vocabulary to help extend small peoples’ store of words. We love the illustrations. Moreover the messages behind both the Marmaduke stories are helpful.”
“This is one of my favourite books to read to my kids. Beautiful story about being different and finding someone else to be different together and happy.”
“Lovely story that I shared with my class to cover differences, appearances, friendships and treating others with respect.”
“Bought this for my daughter and was very impressed with the quality of the story and the illustrations. Ended up buying more for presents – and also one for the school library. A good buy!”
